Road Traffic Act 1994

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures at Abbey Street (Part Of), Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, as amended by Section 46 of the Public Transportation Regulation Act 2009, Tipperary County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to pedestrianise Abbey Street (Part Of), Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

Description:

The proposed works will include the provision of buff coloured surfacing and surface level lighting.   Steel bollards will be installed at each end of the archway to ensure pedestrian safety. Signage will be changed to advise motorists and pedestrians of the new arrangements.   

Access to mechanically propelled vehicles will be restricted on Abbey Street (Part of) in the interest of safety and convenience of road users.

Drawings and particulars of the proposals are available for inspection:

  • At Nenagh Municipal District Office, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

These documents may be inspected during normal office hours, 9:30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday from Thursday 21st December 2023 to Wednesday 31st January 2024 inclusive (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays).

Submissions regarding the proposal clearly marked “Section 38, Abbey Street Scheme, Nenagh, Co Tipperary”, can be made:
