NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE DERELICT SITE
COMPULSORILY UNDER DERELICT SITES ACT, 1990
as amended by the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended)
Notice is hereby given that Tipperary County Council (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Local Authority’) in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Derelict Sites Act 1990, as amended, intend to acquire compulsorily under that Act, the derelict site described hereunder.
A copy of the order and of the map referred to in it is on public display and may be viewed at all reasonable hours (9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, and excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) from 1st May, 2025 to 6th June, 2025 at:
- Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Emmet Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, E91 N512, and
- Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, E45 A099.
Any owner, lessee or occupier (except a tenant for a month or a period less than a month) may, on or before Friday 6th June, 2025 submit to the Local Authority an objection to the proposed compulsory acquisition of the derelict site. Any such objection must be in writing stating the grounds of the objection and addressed to:

The Derelict Sites Act 1990 as amended by the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) provides that if an objection is made to the proposed compulsory acquisition of a derelict site and the objection is not withdrawn, the derelict site shall not be acquired compulsorily by the Local Authority without the consent of An Bord Pleanala.
Description of the site proposed to be acquired:
Lands at 23 Gladstone Street Clonmel comprising of a former chemist shop, and site of 0.014 ha (0.035 ac) as delineated red on map ‘CA Map 23 Gladstone Street Clonmel’ dated 01/04/2025 including Right of Way for Tipperary County Council to pass and repass on vehicle or foot shaded yellow.
