The development will consist of a pavement scheme on the N65 at Carrigahorig Village (townlands of Firmount, Garryclohy and Ballyquirk) incorporating the following elements:
- 850m of new road pavement
- Provision of two new gateways to define the extents of the Village
- Minor realignment of the R493 and L1083 junctions
- Minor realignment of the N65
- Provision of continuous pedestrian facilities (i.e. footpaths) through the extents of the Village
- Provision of two new pedestrian footbridges over the Carrigahorig stream
- Provision of uncontrolled pedestrian crossings
- Provision of a new surface water drainage system
- Provision of new public lighting throughout the Village
- Associated accommodation works and landscaping works
The development has been the subject of an Appropriate Assessment screening in accordance with Article 6(3) of the EU Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EEC) and Article 250(1) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended. The Appropriate Assessment screening concluded that the proposed development is not predicted to result in any likely significant effects on any European site(s) within the Zone of Influence of the proposed scheme.

The proposed scheme is not of a class of development requiring mandatory EIA under Part 1 or Part 2 of Schedule 5 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, and is not a class of development requiring sub-threshold screening for EIA therefore a screening for EIA of the proposed scheme is not required.
Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development, including AA and EIA Screening Reports, will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy for a period from Monday 17th June, 2024 to Monday 15th July, 2024 inclusive during office hours at the offices listed below.

Members of the public who wish to meet with representatives of Tipperary County Council and our consultant to discuss the scheme are invited to attend a non-statutory information session to be held in Tipperary County Council Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, E45 A099, on Monday 24th June from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
