Draft Carrick-on-Suir Local Area Plan 2025-2031

In accordance with Section 20 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), Tipperary County Council has published the Draft Carrick-on-Suir Local Area Plan 2025-2031, which comprises of the following: 

  • Written Statement
  • Appendices, including a Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report; an Appropriate Assessment (AA) Natura Impact Report; and Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Report. 
  • Maps

A copy of these documents may be inspected during public opening hours from Friday 25 October 2024 to Monday 09 December 2024 inclusive at the following locations:

  • Online on this webpage.
  • Planning Section, Civic Offices, Emmet Street, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary 
  • Planning Section, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
  • Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District Offices, New Street, Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary
  • Carrick-on-Suir Library, Fair Green, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary.

Making Submissions / Observations

Submissions or observations can be made in one of two ways:

1.      Online: By clicking the 'Make a Submission' button on this page.

2.      In writing (marked clearly as “Carrick-on-Suir Local Area Plan”) to:

  • Planning Department, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, E45 A099
  • Planning Department, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Emmet Street, Clonmel, Co Tipperary, E91 N512.

Submissions or observations must be made in writing no later than 4.00 p.m. on Monday, 09 December 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Please consider the following in making your submission:

1. Submissions should be in ONE medium only i.e. online or in hard copy. Emailed submissions will not be accepted.

2. Submissions should include the full name and address of the person making the submission, details of organisation, group or company represented where relevant.

3. Please include a map if your submission refers to a particular location, land or feature.

4. Children or groups or associations representing the interests of children are entitled to make submissions or observations on the Draft LAP.

5. Please be advised that all submissions received will be published online within 10 working days and will be set out in a Chief Executive’s Report that will also be published.

6. Please ensure that no vexatious, libellous or confidential information, including confidential information relating to a third party (in respect of which the third party has not, expressly, or impliedly in the circumstances, consented to its disclosure) is included. The Planning Authority reserves the right to redact any submission or part thereof that does not comply with this requirement.

7. All submissions/observations will be subject to the Data Protection Act 1988-2018 and the Freedom of Information Act 2014

 

Submissions or observations in respect of the Draft LAP received within the submission period will be taken into consideration in the making of the new Local Area Plan. 

 

The planning authority has prepared an Environmental Report of the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the local area plan. Submissions or observations in respect of the Environmental Report made within the submission period will also be taken into consideration.

Public Drop-in Event

Council Planning staff will be available to answer general queries and provide guidance on the Draft LAP on Wednesday 13th November 2024 (3pm to 7pm) at the Carrick-on Suir Library, Fair Green, Carrick-on-Suir, E32 X860.
